We’ve been sort of busy building web sites, homeschooling, working with the church, and trying to earn a living, so we had to put this project on hold for awhile. Time and money were both a problem, but we’re ready to move forward with it now. As it appears that our nephew will be here awhile, he needs a bedroom away from the first-floor traffic zone. Also, while he may think he’s going to have the biggest bedroom in the house, we’ll be using part of it for storage.

Once we get the stairs finished, we’ll hook up the electrical. The power line is already in place, so it’s just a matter of putting in the receptacles and hooking them up.

With easy access and electricity, the rest should come more quickly. We still have to finish the walls and attic ceiling. Parts of the floor that will need to be completed, and we’ll be building some shelves, bookcases, and storage areas into the otherwise wasted space beneath the eaves.

I had thought of completing the walls over the winter, but decided to wait and see if I had corrected the ice damming problem that we had the previous winter. It seem so, as I am detecting no dampness on either the wood or insulation.
